Weekend runners.

Miss Giselle was the first of our weekend runners who ran at Ffos Las on Saturday. She ran a decent enough race against the boys to finish 6th over 2m4f. She now needs one more run before she gets her handicap mark but will soon be heading back to Gary Sanderson's farm who is her breeder for the summer to enjoy a well earned rest. She is not the biggest but what she lacks in size she makes up for with her her tough attitude, and hopefully off the right mark can go and win a little race or two for us in mares handicap hurdles this coming season.

Samdibien ran at Fontwell on Sunday who is a smashing 4yr old who has taken time to come to hand, he traveled and jumped well throughout and finished a good 3rd staying on right to the line, he too is now off on his summer break and is a really exciting horse to look forward in years to come.

Also on Sunday Wonga Swinger who's owned by my girlfriend Tori ran at Cothelstone in a maiden point to point run over 2m4f. The scene was set and we were hoping to go one better than his last start but unfortunately he couldn't run as well as he looked and ended up finishing 5th just being past by horses after the last fence where he looked to get tired. Initially we were a bit disappointed as his penultimate start was a good solid run where he finished second over course and distance but we've since found out that the time of the race was 15 seconds faster than his previous! The pointing season is nearly at an end so he may be lining up in a maiden hurdle sometime this summer but we will see.

Our next runners will hopefully be next Friday where we'll be heading to Aintree to run both Fort Smith and Enjoy Responsibly they are both better ground horses and both seem well, Harry Beswick will be jetting back from France to ride them where he is currently enjoying a summer campaign working for trainer Emmanuel Clayeux.

Tuesday we took a trip to Ascot Sales where we managed to secure a lovely 5yr old Irish Point to Pointer. He is a big scopey individual who still has some filling out to do, we will put him out to grass next week for a summers break before being campaigned through the winter.

He is currently for sale so if you would like to know any more about him then please get in touch via email at samthomasracing@outlook.com or phone on 07929101751
