Runners and a successful trip to the sales!

Rock and Bel trotting home

After a slightly quieter start to January, all systems are go now with plenty going on in the last week or so. Samdibien ran at Fontwell at the end of the month, he was travelling and jumped really well before coming down two out, he seemed non the worse after his fall.

Dancing Doug after his morning workout

Dancing Doug & Rock and Bel took a trip to Cocklebarrow point to point on the Monday for a racecourse gallop, this was both horses first outing and we were really pleased with how they went and will have learnt a lot from the experience. They will now be aimed at bumper in the near future.

New boy Winter Spice

We have had a new arrival at the yard after a successful trip to Newmarket for the sales. Winter Spice a lovely 6 year old grey gelding who has previously been raced on the flat. He has settled into the yard really well and had his bit of education of jumping today taking it all in his stride. There are 3 1/4 shares available in him, please visit our for sale page on the website or contact Sam direct for more details.

Wonga Swinger took a trip up North to Sedgefield last Monday, he put in a pleasing performance and is improving with each run. We aim to find a similar race for him in the near future and feel he would definitely benefit from better ground.

More Than Luck at Hereford

Jamrham and More Than Luck headed to Hereford on Tuesday where the ground was far from suitable for the pair of them, they ran good races considering conditions both finishing up 4th. They are sound and feeling well this morning, the plan for them both will now be to find suitable races in the near future.

We then had a day without any runners before Fort Smith headed to Doncaster on Thursday, he ran an ok but we feel he isn't showing his best on the track at the moment but with his weight continuing to drop we hope he will pick up a little race soon for his patient owners.

It was Spring Pools turn on Friday where she was in the mare chase at Bangor, a first time over fences with us. The race was a little out of her depth, but we were pleased with how she ran, jumping and galloping right to the line. She will continue to improve on better ground.

Samdibien at Uttoxter

Our last run of the week was Samdibien, who unfortunately was pulled up after a circuit of the track after not running like he normally does. He was scoped after the race which came back dirty. The plan for him will be to get him 100% fit and healthy before looking to find him a suitable race.
