Started the season with a winner

Lovely Touch with Adam Nicol on board

So the new national hunt season has begun, and I am thrilled to report we have started it off with a winner! Lovely Touch having his first run for nearly a year put in an impressive performance at Fontwell on Friday to comfortably finish in front with Adam Nicol on board, jumping and travelling well throughout. The handicapper has given him 13lb for winning which is fairly steep for this time of the year but he has come out of the race very well and we are looking forward to having some fun with him over the summer months.

Friday also saw a trip to Chepstow with Poweronthebonnet, he ran a very encouraging race to finish 3rd, he will definitely come on for the run and we look forward to continue running him through the summer over both hurdles and on the flat.

More Than Luck with Jamie Dunley

More Than Luck was back in action on Saturday after his little holiday having waited for better ground. He started his summer campaign over fences for the first time at Uttoxeter and we were pleased with how he ran jumping and travelling well. He will come on from the run but he definitely enjoyed the better ground on Saturday, and we look forward to running him throughout the summer, giving his owners Bart Beswick & Jamie Dunley lots of fun.

Tuesday we were at Fakenham, a course that always do a great job with the ground and there is usually decent prize money on offer. It was a frustrating result for Jamrham in the 2m5f handicap chase on what was a beautiful day. He looked to have the race in the bag having jumped well throughout before slowing up after the last and being headed to finish 2nd. Jamrham has been a very consistent horse throughout the season, and has been a pleasure to have trained. Unfortunately this is his last run with us as he will be going hunter chasing next season, we wish his owner Sarah McQueen all the best with him in the future.

We have lots of entries for this coming weeks so lets hope the horses can keep up the good form and keep running well!
