Lovely Touch does it again!

The week started with Bart Beswick's Caprice D'Anglais at Kempton, he settled well at the front of the field, jumping and travelling well throughout before not being able to quicken away at the end. We will now see what the handicapper does on Tuesday as to what we aim him at next.

Lovely Touch at Southwell

Tuesday saw a late night with Lovely Touch not running till 8.30 at Southwell, this was all made worth while with him managing to win impressively once again. A big well done to his owners Third Match Officials, and well done to everyone at Saxon House Stables.

We have been thankful for the rain over the last few days having had such a dry spell, and hope to have lots of entries in over the next week as there is now a bit of ease in the ground.

Trevor enjoying the sunishine on his holiday
2 year old by Universal in pre training

On Wednesday we picked up two new horses up from Jane Way, one of which has been pre trained and he has now gone out in the field with the others, he will be back in August to start his racing career, starting off with a NH flat race, there will be share available for him. The other new one is a little project for the summer, she is a 4 year old mare who is in fact half sister to Torhousemuir. She will be broken in over the summer and then all being well she will run on the flat later in the season. Sam also went to see a lovely 2 year old by Universal which is currently being pre trained with Jamie Gos, once he has had a little break he will join us at Saxon House where we hope to run him on the flat.

Jamrham before heading home

We were sad to see Jamrham go home on Thursday, he has been a very reliable horse for us throughout the season, as well as being an absolute gent to have around the yard. We wish his owner Sarah McQueen all the best with him next season.

Oscars Little Rose & Powerstown Park

The young ones are all still enjoying their summer holidays, we brought Oscars Little Rose & Powerstown Park to a field closer to the yard last week, it is always great to be able to see them enjoying their holiday and watch them change throughout the summer.
