A weeks of 2nds!

Torhousemuir happily grazing the next day.

We have had another busy week with a few runners throughout the week. It started off with Torhousemuir at Huntingdon on Tuesday, he was looking to be going well before taking a crunching fall at the third last. He seems none the worse for the fall and we will look to find him a race to hopefully finish his campaign on a positive note before having his holiday.

On Wednesday evening Lovely Touch went to Southwell where he ran a blinder again finishing a close 2nd carrying a 7lb penalty. We were pretty much forced to run him again quickly after the handicapper gave him a whopping 17lb for winning the time before. We also took Powderonthebonnet to Southwell where he tried his heart out only to be run out of it after the last hurdle and finished a very creditable 2nd. He will now head to Ffos Las later this week, where we hope he can put in another bold show.

More Than Luck getting in the zone before his race

On Saturday it was More Than Luck's turn down at Ffos Las. The track clearly suited him as he traveled and jumped very well throughout only to be out quickened over the last fence over an inadequate trip, a very positive performance and a big step in the right direction. Hopefully he can now go one better while he is in such good form and enjoying the better ground.

Lastly Caprice D'Anglais was at Huntington yesterday, he ran a very odd race giving us the impression he isn't 100% so fingers crossed something will come to light over the next few days and we will be back on track with him again in no time.

Royal Magic

We saw a new arrival to the yard on Thursday after the Horses In Training sales at Doncaster, a lovely big 5 year old called Royal Magic who has been bought by Tom Fillery. He has run 3 times in Irish point to points, we plan on doing a bit with him this week before turning him away for the summer with all the other horses, where we hope he will continue to fill out.

We have been cracking on with Dusty our 4yr old Passing Glance filly, she is happily long reining very nicely and we will look to have her ridden away in the next few days. Watch this space!
