A busy Boxing Day

Christmas is over for another year, I think we have all just about recovered from the amount of food and the odd beverage that were consumed! Christmas Day saw a quieter day for the younger horses, but there was no rest for the four that we had running on Boxing Day who were out as normal on Monday morning.

Boxing Day saw a trip to Huntingdon for all four runners, Samdibien started the day off in a 3m handicap hurdle. This was his first run of the season and over this trip, he stayed on well to the line to finish 3rd. The Cannister Man made his debut over hurdles, he seemed a little out of sorts and was pulled up, we will give him a quieter week and go from there. Torhousemuir ran in the 2m3f handicap chase, he settled into the race nicely but it was clear he didn't like the softer ground. He will now have a few quieter weeks and be brought back in time for the spring when the ground will be more suitable for him.

Our final runner of the day was Diamond Racing's Little Allstar, he made his rules debut in the NH flat race. He ran a very creditable race, staying on well to the line. The time of the race was the same as the mares listed race earlier in the day and it will probably turnout to be quite a hot race. He will come on for the run and we will try to find him some better ground and send him over hurdles next time out.

It is that time of year where horses are fit and ready to go but the going is currently very soft everywhere and wouldn't suit a few of our horses, we are just looking after these young horses and waiting for suitable ground.

Several entries have been made over the weekend, we will keep a close eye on the forecasts, but fingers crossed they will get a run.

Happy New Year to you all!
