New year is well underway...

Time has flown by since writing the last blog after Christmas, we have had a few

runners since the last report and some horses are getting very close to running now. Oscars Little Rose was our final runner of 2017, she made her racecourse debut in the mares bumper at Uttoxeter. It wasn't the ideal race for her having being badly hampered down the back straight but she kept on really well galloping right to the line and will have learnt a lot from the run. We will look to get her out again at the end of this month where she'll be so much sharper for the experience. There are still shares available in her so for just £50 a month so please get in touch if you would like to get involved.

Not a Role Model and Dancing Doug made the trip to Taunton last week, Role Model jumped and travelled well on ground that would not be best suited to him, he has now been given a handicap mark so should find life a little easier now in the right grade. Dancing Doug seemed blissfully unaware of what happened last time he was at the racecourse, he ran a blinder to finish 3rd in a competitive looking bumper. Both horses have come out of their races very well and it shouldn't be long before they are seen again on the race track.

Mega Mind was at Ludlow last week, he jumped well throughout but will find it all a little easier once we get some better ground. The Luke Harvey Racing Club's Royal Magic was our final runner of the week in the Novice hurdle at Kempton where he found things happening all a bit too quickly. We will give him a quiet week before deciding the next plan of action but we'll most likely find something similar on a stiff track like where he won. He's a smashing big horse who one day will make a fabulous chaser which we're all really excited about!

The younger horses are going very well at home, a few of them had their first proper piece's of work on the grass on Saturday, they all did it very nicely and we hope to find them a racecourse gallop in the next few weeks before having their first runs.

Quentin who's been our yardman since starting has really progressed in his riding and is now enjoying a little break from mucking out each morning as he has now started riding out 1 lot a morning. He is getting the hang of it all very quickly and it is nice to see him out on the gallops with a permanent grin on his face!
