Cold snap putting a hold on racing!

The ball seems to be back rolling now and the horses all in great form. Just Got To Get On made his racecourse debut at Ffos Las in the bumper with Charlie Deutsch on board, he traveled well and came off the pace to press the winner all the way to the line to finish 3rd being beaten just a length! A great day for his owner/breeder Corinne Swarbrick who made the long trip down to watch. He seems to have come out of the race really well, so it shouldn't be long before we can get him back out again some time later in the month.

Iwilldoit & Whisper

Iwilldoit was raised a hefty 12lbs for his Bangor success so we tried our luck a week later at Market Rasen under a 7lb penalty, unfortunately the race just came too soon for him and he ran a bit flat. He's now had a couple of quieter weeks to freshen him up before we look to find him his next target.

Royal Magic ran earlier in the week at Kempton in the 2m4f handicap chase, it was great to see him back to form jumping and travelling well to finish a close 3rd with Richard Patrick on board. Lots of the Luke Harvey Racing Club were there to support him and everyone seemed to have a great day out which is what its all about! Dancing Doug made his handicap debut at Ludlow, 3m in tacky ground didn't suit him and a drop in trip will be on the cards next time out. He has come out of the race well and we'll look to get him out again in the coming weeks.

We took some unraced 4 year olds to Chepstow for a racecourse gallop after their last meeting. Although it was a very damp morning, it was great experience for the young horses and has bought them all on leaps and bounds. We will look to do this again with one or two of them before hitting the track for the real thing! Thank you to Chepstow Racecourse for letting us use the facility.

The trips to the beach have become a weekly occurrence, we try to go a couple of times a week. It is a great way to give the horses a long steady canter and get them really thinking on their feet - some being better at it than others!

We were due to run The Cannister Man at Lingfield on Tuesday, but unfortunately the cold weather put a stop to that! So after a 5 minute trip down the road in the horse box, it was a case of turning round and unloading a very confused horse! We have several horses ready to run now but probably won't get them out now till the end of next week when hopefully temperatures start to rise!
